Here’s how to manage the most stylish looks as you travel around this winter.

Tis’ the time to travel… ok, not yet, but soon. And woollies will invariably play the spoilsport hogging half the space, leaving precious little to flaunt the fashionista in you, especially for your SM or social media posts. How can you travel light and yet brandish all new looks in every pic?

Fairly simple if you plot it right. Mix and match or monochromes is the way to go, though the latter can get a tad boring on a holiday. If indeed monochrome meets your style quotient, ensure there’s a pop of colour and accessories to match. The right accessories can glam up any boring look.

Don’t scrounge on the accessories — stoles, glares, socks, and statement jewellery pieces will not occupy too much space and instead will serve to add more than a dash of flair. Funky sunglasses, bright mufflers, huge hoops in silver, gold or metal, bangles, a groovy neckpiece — not all together. Mix and match. A word of caution if you treasure your earrings. Don’t wear the clip-ons or hooks as they tend to fall off.

Bags and footwear should never be more than two — one that you wear and carry, a backpack if you have a strong back, and the other versatile pair that will go with almost everything that you pack. If you are not too fussy, just the bag on your shoulder should suffice, or even simply aa capacious backpack. If it is a handbag, anything in hues of black, grey, brown or tan will go with almost everything, and if it is a backpack, the colour does not really matter. Just ensure it is strong, waterproof, with enough compartments and lightweight.

Another key point to bear in mind during travelling is the comfort factor. One is almost always on the move, hopping from one place to another. Comfort-fit and comfort-wear is critical.

Now for the basics. A pair of jeans on you and another in your carryall (preferably in different hues), as many UGs, tees or tops as the number of days that you will be gallivanting, a trench coat or chunky long or short cardigan or a turtle neck on you and a change in the bag. Too little or too much? I look forward to hearing from you. Happy travelling!
