So men, how do you make your sartorial choices?

So men, how do you make your sartorial choices? While the Boomer is rather content in the regular shirt-tee-shorts-trousers-jeans-jacket-coat, it is the Generation X, Y (millennials), Z that’s really leading the change.

While the Boomer has mostly clung on to monos in black, white, blue and brown, GenX onwards have been more experimental be it colours, cuts, prints and even accessories. No hard and fast rule there. If an individual has an innate sense of style, fashion speaks in the sharply ironed shirt and trousers, polished footwear, the understated cufflinks, short, clean nails, slick, combed back hair. There was always that odd ponytail, the more popular beard or moustache, the silver or gold chain, looped bracelet. What has continued even before the Silent Generation is the use of the cologne and after-shave.

Embrace all of this and more.

Summer’s round the corner and tech is what a majority dig. Look for wearables that promise quick-dry, breathable, wrinkle-free and the like to keep the going good as the sun begins to blaze.

Opt for natural fabrics like cotton and linen. Blends add functionality. Look at the tag to know the ingredient mix.

Short sleeves work best for the Indian summer, though there are many who prefer to be seasonless in full sleeves, opting to roll up as it gets warmer.

Denim is timeless. A much-innovated fabric, shirts, shorts, jeans or even the kurta in various blends and hues makes for a good all-occasion, 9-after-hours wear.
