So what if you are a plus size. It means not that you cloak yourself in shapeless garments. And having said that, irrespective of body type or size, it is important that you work out your own distinct style. Understated is the way to go, but should you want to dress like Ranveer Singh or Govinda in his heydays, or the nymphets all over social media, go about it with the right panache and comfortable in your skin.
Let’s talk plus today. A few rules: Go black or red or monochrome. Wear shades of the same colour if you are in separates. Try not to split the body at the waist. And no body huggers. No horizontal stripes. While vertical lines will give you length, horizontal could visually lop a few centimetres off you. But if the stripes are thick and far apart, and the top does not cling to the body, rest assured go with them.
High waist jeans tuck that roll of muffin in, and a straight or flared dress gives a trimmer look. Big prints will make you look bigger, so watch it there. Small prints, self-print, polka dots will flatter. And a V neckline is perhaps the best to sport.
Accessories can make all the difference. If you can’t teeter on stilettos, a kitten heel will work just fine. Too small or big a bag could ruin any good dress. A medium sized tote works well for plus-sers, and a long (could be chunky) neckpiece or stole could help reduce the width a tad.
Hope this helps! I look forward to your questions. Anything and everything on fashion!
